Peregrine Adventures
We want you to have a great holiday experience, so we only run our trips during the times of year that are suitable for travel.

Patagonia
The southern parts of Chile & Argentina are only suitable for travel during the warmer months from the end of October to the end of March. This is the best time to trek in Patagonia as the weather is generally warm and the skies are clear making it perfect for walking and trekking. This is also the time when our polar ships set out on their voyages to Antarctica.

Northern Argentina and Southern Brazil
This area can be visited all year around with the most pleasant months being from April to October. Heaviest rains are in the summer months from December to March.

Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador
These three countries have distinct climatic zones.

In the Andes the best time to trek is from April to September when days tend to be clear, dry and mild. Nighttime temperatures during this period can be very cold. The Andes receive most rain during the summer months from December to February.

In the Amazon it is hot, humid and wet all year round with the hottest and wettest months being from September to March. Jungle safaris operate all year round.

The Galapagos Islands
No matter the time of the year you choose to visit the Galapagos – your cruise will be amazing. Although the islands are located on the equator, the ocean's surface temperature tends to vary considerably from 7 to 28°C. January to March is considered the hot/wet season, March being the hottest month of the year. The islands are brimming with plant life at this time, and the water temperatures are ideal for snorkelling and diving. From July to September there's less rain and the temperature is cooler. The water temperature drops considerably, though this is the ideal time of year to see more aquatic life, as the animals prefer the colder currents.

Venezuela
Venezuela has a warm temperature all year round with most rain falling from May to October. During the dryer months from January to May the lower water levels can make travel by canoe difficult.

Central America
Costa Rica and Guatemala receive most rain during the summer months from May to October. The average yearly temperature is a pleasant 20°C with the average maximum temperature around 23°C.

Mexico
South of the Tropic of Cancer, it is hot and humid along the coastal plains on either side of the country and on the Yucatan Peninsula, whilst the area covered by the central plateau is much cooler as the elevation rises. The hottest months, May to October, are also the wettest with most rain falling between June and September.

Cuba
The best time to visit tropical Cuba is during the dry Cuban winter (November to April) however Cuba can be visited all year round. The island receives most of its rain during the summer months from June to September. The region is prone to hurricanes from July to November each year.
